What the law requires of you

Regalis places cooks and hotel staff from Greece with companies in Germany, without a visa. The employment contract is signed directly with the company. Registration and placement are free of charge for candidates.

  • No visa

    As an EU citizen you need neither a visa nor a work permit to work in Germany.

  • Contract and registration of your address

    You need an employment contract. After moving, you register your address with the local registration office where you live.

  • Recognition only where needed

    Recognition of your qualification is only needed in regulated professions. For cooks and hotel staff it is usually not needed.

  • Training and language

    The law requires neither vocational training nor German skills from EU citizens. What a company wants is described below.

What companies usually expect

  • Work experience in a kitchen, in service or in a hotel. A diploma from a cooking or tourism school improves your chances, but is not always necessary.
  • German at A2 level or above improves your chances. In many kitchens, English or colleagues who speak the same language are enough.
  • Readiness for shifts, split shifts and weekend work, depending on the company.
